Project Synopsis:

The project consisted of eight tracks, provisioning facility, bulk fuel facility, combined maintenance facility, service vehicle garage, middle creek bridge, integrity dig and protection structure over Jemena’s 500mm high pressure gas main, installation of over 4,000 piles (using different techniques), waste water treatment plant, access and maintenance roads, relocation and installation of 33kv overhead wires. Leighton Contractors was procured to deliver the project under a hard dollar, construct only contract (AS-2124 as amended).

Services Rendered:

Drafting letters, site instructions and issuing site memos to the contractor
Daily, weekly and monthly reporting on safety, quality, program and cost
Managing major and minor design changes during construction in a manner to prevent delays
Variations and contractual strategy support
Managing the timely execution of Access Deeds and agreements
Managing and resolving site issues to prevent delay or disruption of the contractor
Project risk assessment facilitation, review, quantification and implementation of controls
Detailed quantity survey of all earthworks and road pavements to structure the Superintendent’s claim response
Managing the relationship with ARTC and its Alliance partner, Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd, who were developing the Hexham Relief Road Project >$100m directly adjacent
Facilitating Safe Working arrangements for test train
