The Tamworth Intermodal Freight Facility is located within the Tamworth Global Gateway Park, adjacent to the rail corridor on Goddard Lane, to move freight from trucks to trains. The project aims to capitalise on the vision of the NSW Government for increasing levels of freight to be transported in containers by rail, providing direct access to the Port of Newcastle and Port of Botany. The Tamworth Intermodal Freight Facility is expected to encourage new industry opportunities as well as support and facilitate economic development.

The Intermodal Project has been a combined effort from Qube, the State Government and Tamworth Regional Council.
